Black Friday

Today is Black Friday. My heart sank a little when I noticed that I had a shift at work on Black Friday. For shoppers, today is heavenly (I've even managed to grab a few early Black Friday deals). For retail staff, it is terrifying. And for little old me, well I'm quite upset about the whole situation. I feel like this whole Black Friday thing has come from nowhere, I can't remember it happening before, but all of a sudden I have a new day that fills me with sadness. Why on earth would I be sad about such a great event?!

Black Friday is an American tradition that has managed to find its way over to our shores. It is the day after Thanksgiving and is regarded to be the start of the Christmas shopping season. To kick of festive shopping procedures, a load of deals and discounts are put on offer to get everyone shopping and ready for Christmas shopping bargain hunting!

And in recent times, a lot of British retailers are latching on to this idea of mega discounts. I've seen £100 32" televisions, cheap PlayStation bundles and tablets for under £80. The deals you can pick up are amazing and most can be found online too so, if you get up early, you are guaranteed to get some kind of amazing deal.

I still haven't answered why I'm sad about the whole event. Well, I'm at work. And we have a massive glass window where I'll be able to see all you lucky things with your AMAZING deals. If I wasn't working today I would be over the moon. I love a good bargain. And I'm kind of gutted by the time I get out of work I will probably have missed all the bargains! So here's hoping to this craze catching on and Black Friday being an annual event so I can join in! Long Live Black Friday from all shopping addicts!
