Best Winter Lipsticks

Winter for me means more darker toned lipsticks. Usually for practical reasons; my eyes stream in the cold so I rub my eyes meaning any eye make up ends up panda-eyed and unattractive! I wasn't planning to do this post as I did a similar one last year but, to my surprise, I have had a change in heart to a couple of the lipsticks I opt for in the winter. Here are my lipsticks of choice this winter...

1: 17 Stay Pout Lipstick - 'Rule Breaker'

I love this lipstick. It's not the best wearing, in that it won't last you all day, but it applies beautifully and looks almost like a stain on the lips. I can chuck it into my hand bag and know I'll be able to apply it without the aid of a mirror as it blends onto the lips so nicely. I believe Rule Breaker is one of the darker shades from this range which was new last year. I know 17 tend to discontinue products fairly quickly so, if this is still available, I might grab another couple of tubes!

2: Collection Volume Sensation Lipstick - '8 Cherry Pop'

A firm favourite of mine, Cherry Pop is a very bright, orange-toned red lipstick. It's a nice, warmer alternative to the contrast the cooler shades I've picked and I love this particular one as it's so cheap! I've neglected this one a little bit over the last few months but I wore it the other day and it is one of those must-own lipstick shades you need. Again, it doesn't last ages but it's so affordable you can buy a couple of tubes and be sure that they will get used up!

3: Lush Emotional Brilliance Make Up - 'Decisive'

The Lush liquid lipsticks are such a great formula. Despite being liquid, once applied they last all day and I rarely have to reapply when I'm wearing them. Decisive is a beautiful cherry red colour with a slight cool undertone.

4: Sleek True Colour Lipstick - 'Cherry 790'

This Sleek lipstick has had it's fair share of love over the years I've been wearing it. The lipstick is super creamy and glides on out of the tube. It wears for hours. It stains slightly too so it will have that nice darker tint as it wears off. It's such an unusual deep red that is hard to find so I'm glad Sleek have made this lipstick! I prefer to wear a lip liner with this one as it ca be a little tricky to get the perfect shape around your lips as the lipstick formula is so creamy.

5: MAC Lipstick - 'Rebel'

Saving the best until last, MAC's Rebel is my all time favourite berry shade lipsticks. It is the most wearable purple shade I have found and I love that it is such a beautiful berry colour despite the scary dark purple that it is in the lipstick bullet! This is a MAC lipstick I will 100% repurchase, I'm a good way through the tube already! PS my lips look quite dry at this point in the pictures... I had been applying and taking off 5 lippies at this point ;') haha!

  2. Love these colors. I used to despise dark and red lipsticks on me, but last year, I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and tried to actually wear dark red lips to a party and a lot of people complemented my lip colors. Since then, I have been into dark lipsticks! Great reviews btw. Thanks for sharing them <3
