My Favourite Festive Films

Despite being a Christmas-obsessed lady, I only like a small handful of Christmas films. I find most of them too over-the-top and I know that's kinda the point of them but I can't handle all the perfectness of it all! The one I dislike the most is rather controversial...

Don't kill me but my most hated Christmas film is Home Alone. Eeekkk. I just find it so stupid - I hate the boy's confidence! I know if I had been left alone I would be sobbing in the corner for hours, let alone fighting burglars HOWEVER that is a story for another time, let's move onto a more positive list of the Christmas films I do like ;)

First up, my all time favourite, Elf. I love how Buddy is so innocent and naive about the real world after living with the elves so long. The acting is amazing and it's easy to fall in love with Buddy and his way of doing things. I love how weird he is compared to the rest of the characters and it makes me laugh out loud every time I watch it. It's such a cute film and is great for anyone wanting a good, feel-good holiday film.

Next up is The Muppets' Christmas Carol. This is the first Christmas film I can remember watching. I still recon I could sing along to all the songs in the film if someone put it on now, I watched it repeatedly as a child. The Christmas Carol is such a great story, with a lovely Christmas message of good will, so include some Muppet friends and you're on to a winner!

My final favourite festive film (all the f's in that sentence haha!) is the British classic Love Actually. When I first watched this film, I hated it because it was the typical soppy love story I despised however in my old age (haha) I have warmed up to the sentimental feels contained in this film. I like that it shows all types of love, from romantic to family to friendship, and manages to portray many characters' stories whilst keeping the plot running. I love that is one of the only good British Christmas films too, it definitely has that quirky Brit humour to it!

What are your favourite Christmas films? PS Please don't hate me for disliking Home Alone ;)
