NOTD // Ciate 'Poppet' Swatch & Review

I was a little apprehensive of painting my nails in a matte, pastel lilac this time of year but I decided tog o against the 'trends' and try out my lovely new Ciate Dolls House nail polish collection. As I mentioned, I started with this gorgeous lilac shade called Poppet.

I love matte shades but I'm always a little wary of them chipping easily. You can't top coat them unless you have a matte top coat (which I don't) so there is no way to protect the shade.

BLOGGING // Why I Blog

Blogging has boomed in the last couple of years. It's crazy to think when I first started, we're talking years ago as I have had quite a few blogs/youtubes/social media adventures, I would have never imagined myself doing it now and getting amazing life opportunities from it. I only started because I liked talking to other people about make up.

Yet blogging has become an integral part of my life. Call me sad, call me boring, I just love blogging. I know lots of people would disagree with me, bloggers and non-bloggers, but I can't imagine my little life without this piece of Internet I call my blog. Sometimes I even ask myself  "Why am I a blogger?" and how do I keep myself motivated and inspired ...

BEAUTY // Lush Valentine's Day 2015 Launch

I'm always excited for a new launch of products at Lush and that is no exception for this year's Valentine's Day collection! There are new bath products, lip products and gifts which were displayed in a special early morning preview put on by the Lush Solihull store. I love the new products this year - Lush have really put a lot of effort into this amazing collection!

REVIEW // The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream

Most people get dry skin in the colder months. Up until December, my skin had been the same - Oily/Combination. So when it came to Christmas time and my face dried up (quite literally!) I had a bit of a shock and was at a loss with what to do. I tried using more of my usual facial moisturiser but this had little effect and my skin was still looking dried out.

The Body Shop had an offer recently where they would pop in a pot of Vitamin E Moisture Cream with every order so, despite being a self-confessed skincare snob, I decided to try it out and see if this hydrating cream would make any difference to my skin.

A Guide to doing an English Literature Degree

2014 was a big year for me as it was the year in which I graduated from university. I now have an honours degree in English Literature which, if you'd have asked me four years ago, couldn't have been different to what I thought I'd end up doing.

I thought I'd write about what it is like to study for a degree in English. When I first embarked on the journey to get my degree, I had no idea on what my course would entail so it was a bit of a shock (good and bad) when I actually started my lectures...

LUSH Copperhead Shampoo Bar

Yes - that is all that is left of my Copperhead shampoo bar. It's not very attractive but at least it is evidence of myself being able to give a great review of a well-used product ;)

Lush launched six new shampoo bars last November and I had been eager to try out Copperhead since I heard of its creation. The shampoo bars are solid, soap-like bars that you use to wash your hair. They lather up great and last for over 80 washes! As they are sold 'naked' (without packaging) they are also uber eco-friendly. Great! But how does this particular bar perform?

How to Name Your Blog

Naming my blog was a huge deal to me. I honestly put the same though into naming my blog as what I would to naming a child because it is my personal space on the Internet that I want to define as being very 'me'. So when it came to closing my old blog, which had the rather un-creative name 'Becky's Beauty Blog', I decided my new blog would have to have a name that screamed me. And so started the naming process...

Happy New Year!

We made it! It's 2015! Now I know most of you will be either hungover or very tired from staying up/working late last night so this is just a quick blog post to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all those who have followed my blog in the last eighteen months.

I've really got into blogging recently and I wouldn't have been able to do it without all my followers and fellow bloggers who inspire me to write.

Normal blogging resumes tomorrow, for now why not enjoy my Blogmas posts with a handy link to them all here.

Happy New Year everyone :)
