REVIEW // The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream

Most people get dry skin in the colder months. Up until December, my skin had been the same - Oily/Combination. So when it came to Christmas time and my face dried up (quite literally!) I had a bit of a shock and was at a loss with what to do. I tried using more of my usual facial moisturiser but this had little effect and my skin was still looking dried out.

The Body Shop had an offer recently where they would pop in a pot of Vitamin E Moisture Cream with every order so, despite being a self-confessed skincare snob, I decided to try it out and see if this hydrating cream would make any difference to my skin.

The cream itself is a nice consistency as it is quite thick but absorbs into the skin relatively quickly. I have to give it a couple of minutes before applying my make up over it. I hate the smell of the cream. It's a mixture of synthetic floral and extreme cleanliness which I really don't like. The perfume is distracting but some people will like it - it's by no means an offencive smell it just isn't my preference!

Hydration wise this cream is pretty good! I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly this face cream restored moisture in my skin. It does a great job of combating the dry patches of my skin yet doesn't add too much oil either, which is great for someone like me who is prone is oily skin. Vitamin E is fantastic for all skin types and it protects your skin from pollution, UVA/UVB rays and prevents premature ageing.

I would recommend this moisturiser. It's a great one for people who need more moisture for their skin without making a huge change to their current skincare routine. Whilst it is still cold, I will be sticking with this face moisturiser for night time but I love my old one too much to completely replace it with this!

Did you manage to get this cream on offer too? What are your thoughts?

  1. I don't mind whether I get this cream on offer or not. Offers help but I love it so much I always repurchase it - definitely my HG day cream! I love that it gives me all the moisture I need without being really thick and leaving my face feel clogged up :)

    1. Yeah I agree with you Katie. I was really pleased with the results, it will be my a staple in my winter skincare routine and I'm so glad I happened to get in on offer as I wouldn't have picked it up otherwise!! xxx

  2. I haven't tried any of The Body Shop's skincare yet, but I'll definitely be popping in to have a look at their range next time I pass a store. I tend to spend more on things like cleansers, serums and eye cream, rather than moisturiser, so this looks like a nice one to try :)
