BLOGGING // Why I Blog

Blogging has boomed in the last couple of years. It's crazy to think when I first started, we're talking years ago as I have had quite a few blogs/youtubes/social media adventures, I would have never imagined myself doing it now and getting amazing life opportunities from it. I only started because I liked talking to other people about make up.

Yet blogging has become an integral part of my life. Call me sad, call me boring, I just love blogging. I know lots of people would disagree with me, bloggers and non-bloggers, but I can't imagine my little life without this piece of Internet I call my blog. Sometimes I even ask myself  "Why am I a blogger?" and how do I keep myself motivated and inspired ...

I've made some amazing friends through blogging that I would have never met had I not started my little blogging space. I've also been given the opportunity to work with brands and PR companies that I would not have thought about approaching had I not been blogging.

But the most important reason I keep blogging, the one that gives me all the drive I need to keep blogging, is that I really enjoy it. I love to write. As part of my Literature degree, I took a few modules in creative writing and it filled my with inspiration and drive to keep writing. I write all the time - there are hundreds of scribbles in my diary with ideas for stories I have whilst I'm out and about and NEED to write down that second. If I didn't blog, I'd have no where to talk. My writing on my blog is my voice and I love that I can interact with so many people on one platform!

I don't really care about how many followers I have (Followers are nice but it's not all about numbers) and I think this is an important way to think to keep you motivated. If you keep number chasing you never really get anywhere. Your blog becomes a big load of rubbish and churned out blog posts that aren't interesting to read. One thing that makes me follow a blog is if it has the writer's unique voice throughout the text and you cn always tell when people are just writing to get followers or freebies.

Blog because you enjoy it. If it feels like a chore or job you don't want to do, you shouldn't be blogging. You're in no rush to blog, no one expects you to do it so you can take all the time in the world and your blogging will improve because of it. I hope this insight as to why I blog has helped a few of you bloggers out there!

  3. Fabulous bog hun, and I know what you mean about blogging I am exactly the same and I think as soon as it feels forced you need to stop. I've had that happen before so have took a break until I find myself wanting to write again :)
