BEAUTY // Soap & Glory 'Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub'

Soap and Glory's Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub is a product I have had my eyes on for years but every time I've gone to buy it, it has been unavailable. When I spotted it randomly in a Boots store about two months ago I had to get it and, I have to say, it was love at first sniff. Alas, this feeling turned out to be lust rather than love...

I took these photos when I first got the product because I thought I'd be using it straight away however I just couldn't bring myself to use it. It smelt too good. after rather reluctantly putting it in my bathroom, I've been using The Breakfast Scrub for about a month now and I have quite a lot to say about it!

First of all... why does it smell so good?! I am a sweet lover and this scrub smells exactly like maple syrup. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, it is ridiculously sweet, but I adore how sugary this smells.

The scrub itself boasts a winning scrub-cocktail of oats, shea butter and sugar. Now, I hate to be a typical Lush snob, but I couldn't help having a little look over the ingredients. The first one is salt which really surprised me as salt is quite good for your skin as it softens it but it's not once mentioned. Ingredients are listed in order of their quantity within the product so no mention of it's most heavily used ingredient is a bit odd for me. Maybe I'm just being super picky...

It's not the roughest of scrubs and I feel more polished than scrubbed after using it which is fine for me as I get some quite sensitive skin when I over scrub. In fact I think I'd be quite comfortable using this every day as it is quite gentle and buttery. The fragrance lingers on the skin which I think is great. Still, despite it's great points, I can't help feeling very underwhelmed by this Soap & Glory scrub. I got the impression that this would be a really invigorating scrub to wake you up first thing but it's just not. It's more of a buttery scrub-meets-wash. I don't think I'll be buying another pot of the Smoothie Star Breakfast scrub!
