BOOKS // "We Were Liars" E. Lockhart *

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart is by far the best book I've read this year. Have you ever read a book that you've been upset to finish? We Were Liars was one of those books for me - I was gutted when it was all over!

We Were Liars follows the story of Cady and her struggle to remember what happened to her before her amnesia-inducing accident. Her grandfather owns a small private island in which he built houses for is three daughters (Cady's mother and aunts) and every summer the family has a long vacation at the island allowing Cady to hang out with her cousins and family friend Gat. This is all fine and dandy until Cady's Grandmother dies, and everything seems to go downhill. Cady then has a mysterious accident on the island, causing her to lose her memory of that particular summer, and her family refuse to tell her the secret of what actually happened.

BLOGGING // Death of the Beauty Blog?

Is my beauty blog popular? I've been pondering over this question for quite some time now and I have to say I'm not entirely sure whether it is or not. It's got to the point where I've really lost my mojo for beauty blogging and my own beauty side of the blog is slowly dying out!

Misleading title aside, I thought I'd write about going about deciding to change your blog style and reasons why perhaps you should be considering it.

BOOKS // Blloon*: The Netflix for books?

Yes, you read correctly. The Blloon is an app which has been described as the Netflix for books; it is a huge database of bestselling books that you can download and read straight away on your iPhone or iPad. Curious to find out more? I certainly was.

Blloon is free to download and you get one month free to test it out and see what wonderful books you can read there (much like how Netflix gives you the free month trial). After being contacted by Blloon asking if I'd be up for trialling their app I decided to give their app a thorough investigation to see if it was as good as it sounded!

TRAVEL // Barmouth

I spent last weekend up in North Wales to stay in Barmouth. Barmouth is a lovely little place next to an amazing beach and surrounded by hills and mountains, meaning plenty of opportunity to get out those walking boots and go exploring!

I had never really been to North Wales before and I was pleasantly surprised at what I found there (apologies - this will be a heavy picture post!).

BEAUTY // The Body Shop Chocomania Body Butter

Anyone who knows me knows I adore chocolate. The Body Shop's Chocomania range seemed to be right up my street - especially the beautiful body butter that looked like you could scoop it out the tub and eat it there and then!

I saw this on offer and thought I'd give it a try and see if I could somehow get my chocolate fix into my beauty routine!

*This is a re-visited review from an older blog post, I thought it would a good idea to give a more informed review now I've had the product a while.

BEAUTY // LUSH Cosmetics Cupcake Fresh Face Mask

Face masks have become a staple in my routine and I'm always wanting to try new ones out. I used to love Lush's Cupcake Fresh Facemask but ingnored it for years as I always assumed it was for teenage skin and wouldn't do much to benefit my own, but I was totally wrong!

VLOG // A holiday in Wales

This is my first ever vlog! I recorded this footage a while back actually when I went away to Cardiff with Nick. This is quite a short vlog and it's more of an 'experiment' of what I can actually do with my video editing software. I hope you enjoy it!

NOTD // Spring Fashion Nails: Volume Two

I got a great response to my Pantone fashion colours inspired nails so I decided to continue with the series: Introducing Volume Two of the Spring Fashion Nails!

The four Spring colours I have chosen this time are Scuba Blue, Strawberry Ice, Glacier Grey and Sandstone. I've tried to avoid the typical pastels we see so often in Spring, so here are my recommended Spring swatched nails of these fabulous colours. These four feature more vibrant shades than 'volume one', so these are definitely for those who love pops of bright colour :)

LIFE // Feeling Insecure

This kinda post isn't the norm for my blog - I've never just written about my thoughts and feelings like this before!  Below is a dodgy selfie picture of myself. I look pretty happy and I've made an effort for a night out. I look kind of confident. But inside I feel like the most insecure person. And there are many reasons why I feel this way.

This would be kind of surprising on a first meeting with me but it's something I have to battle with inside my head on a daily basis. The dictionary definition of the word 'insecure' is, in regards to a person, "subject to fears, doubts, etc.; not self-confident or assured" (dictionary.com).

BEAUTY // The Ultimate Bath Time Routine

Everyone loves a good relax and pamper in the bath, and I think I may have created the *ultimate* routine for the perfect bath time! Yes, it may include a heap of Lush things but after this comforting cocktail of gorgeous products I was in bath time heaven!

The question on everyone's lips: How can I have an equally dreamy bath?! Well, I'll tell you...

BOOKS // "Something Wicked This Way Comes" Ray Bradbury

Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes is a coming of age novel laced with sinister horror and extreme suspense.

The novel centres around two teenage boys, Jim Nightshade and William Halloway, who come across a mysterious carnival that arrives out of the blue one October. The carnival belongs to the rather weird Mr Dark, who is a tattooed and mysterious gent that turns out to be not at all who he seems.

BEAUTY // My Everyday Make-Up Routine

We all have that one make up look we use as our 'every day' face. Mine is the most basic of all basics however I thought I'd give you a little insight into what I pick out of my make up bag everyday to go on my face.

My look is very simple and quick- mainly for convenience reasons! I have quite a long commute to work so I'd rather stay in bed an extra ten minutes than do fancy make up for work. I usually do a winged eyeliner with a bright lipstick and basic foundation routine then I'm off out! Here are my every day make up picks that I highly recommend...

LIFE // Update on 101 in 1001

I did it! I finished the list! And it turns out I have quite a lot I can cross off on the 101 in 1001 days challenge.

I've tried to put the list into some logical order and I will be leaving a link in the sidebar so, if you are curious to see how I get on with this challenge, you can follow my progress. So, what have I added to the list? ...

REVIEW // Lipcote Lipstick Sealer

I've been meaning to do a review on Lipcote, the lipstick sealer, for a long time but there has always been something stopping me from carrying out the review. I've found out what it is now - I hate using Lipcote.

Lipcote sounds like a wonder product, especially for lipstick hoarders such as me, as it promises to seal lipstick making it last longer and stops smudging, fading and feathering. Sounds perfect, right? So what's my big problem with it?

BOOKS // Haul, March 2015

"Hi, my name's Becky and I have a book addiction."

Pictured below is the eveidence of said additcion... a stash of eight books from one shopping trip. Yep. That's 8 books in one go. I honestly have about 60 books that I have yet to read on my shelves yet I insist on buying more! Anyway, I thought I'd let you know what I've been buying and why they were added to my collection.

NOTD // Spring Fashion Nails: Volume One

It's Spring! And with the change in season comes a change in Pantone fashion colours trends. I used to do loads of NOTD posts but, let's face it, they are boring. To switch it up a bit I'm going to be doing a series on nail colours that are on trend with the season's fashion trends and colours. So, without further ado, here is Volume One of my Spring fashion nail colours!

The first four Spring colours I have chosen are Woodbine, Aquamarine, Toasted Almond and Marsala (of course!). I've tried to avoid the typical pastels we see so often in Spring, so here are my recommended Spring swatched nails that are 100% non-pastel haha!

LIFE // Challenge yourself for Charity!

The Willow Foundation is a charity that I had heard of but didn't know much about so when I was contacted by the lovely Beth at Beauty in Beta, who currently volunteers for the foundation, to help raise awareness for their latest event I was more than happy to oblige! The Willow Foundation is an amazing charity that are making a huge difference to people's lives and their latest event is an extreme challenge that I know lots of you will be interested in (and trust me, this one is a mega challenge)!

BEAUTY // LUSH Cosmetics Easter 2015

Most have you have probably seen the beautiful new 2015 Easter range from Lush cosmetics already but, for those of you who may have missed it, I thought I would show you my top picks from the range this year! It's nice to see some brand new products alongside some old favourites this year and I'm very pleased with what Lush have treated us to this year :)

LIFE // Moving Back Home

After university, I was pretty gutted about the prospect of moving back in to my parents' house (Sorry Mom). After being independent for three years, I now had to give up everything I'd learnt and go back home to a tiny box room and I was not happy. My home town leaves a lot to be desired; it's built up, run down and just generally the total opposite of the lovely Worcestershire countryside I'd become accustomed to.

I've been home for  nine months now and I've surprisingly adjusted to life back at home quite happily. I love going on walks with my family and our dog, Widge, and our last walk particularly reminded me of why I'll always have a bit of love for my home town. I hope you enjoy these pictures and a bit of a trip down memory lane for me!
