BEAUTY // LUSH Cosmetics Cupcake Fresh Face Mask

Face masks have become a staple in my routine and I'm always wanting to try new ones out. I used to love Lush's Cupcake Fresh Facemask but ingnored it for years as I always assumed it was for teenage skin and wouldn't do much to benefit my own, but I was totally wrong!

Cupcake is beneficial for skin that tends to be on the more oily side or is prone to breakouts. It's full of mint that balances and detoxifies the skin so your face is more balanced and calm. It's also got rhassoul mud which acts as a cleanser for the skin and helps absorb any excess oils.

Overall, this mask is supposed to soften, tone, cleanse, absorb grease and moisturise the skin. The reason I'm loving this mask again is that, despite its reputation as a teen face mask, it's actually making my skin so much less oily than before! After I've washed it off I feel so much smoother and like my face has had a proper deep cleanse which is perfect for me. You can pile it on really thick too without it leaving a flaky mess haha! There is cocoa butter in the mask too so you are left quite soft after using it.

For my breakouts, in all honesty, it doesn't do that much for them. It does seem to get rid of them a little quicker but I haven't noticed a reduction of any kind. I think this is due to my break outs being because of a non-skin care related problem, after all you can't expect a mask to fix everything!

I'm so glad I picked this one up again - I had forgotten how great it is to use and it gives your skin a great mid-week pick me up :)
