BEAUTY // The Body Shop Chocomania Body Butter

Anyone who knows me knows I adore chocolate. The Body Shop's Chocomania range seemed to be right up my street - especially the beautiful body butter that looked like you could scoop it out the tub and eat it there and then!

I saw this on offer and thought I'd give it a try and see if I could somehow get my chocolate fix into my beauty routine!

*This is a re-visited review from an older blog post, I thought it would a good idea to give a more informed review now I've had the product a while.

I have bought small tubs of Chocomania before and loved it. I noticed this larger tub in the offers section of the shop. Now I'm always a bit wary of using these body butters that the Body Shop have on offer. Nine times out of ten they are absolutely fine to use but I still wonder how long they have been sat there on the shelves if they are now in the bargain basket.

At first I loved this body butter. It's super rich and thick. It leaves a pure, slightly sickly chocolate fragrance all over you which does last a while on the skin. It does smell a little synthetic but it is a true chocolate smell which I do enjoy. But that's where my happy-chocolate-filled dreams ended.

The Chocomania body butter had gone weird. It takes FOREVER to sink into you skin. I actually put it on my legs and popped tights on only to be horrified that the body butter started to seep through the tights leaving weird lumps of used body butter all over my tights (which I obviously then had to change). I have no idea why but this literally takes hours to absorb into my skin and this is really impractical. I've never had it before with Body Shop butters which is why I'm so surprised about this one. It just sits on top of my skin looking all greasy.

I've no idea what to do next with this body butter. I hate that it will go to waste - it does smell good and I'd like to use as much as possible! I don't think I'll be buying this one again though, especially not in the large tub.
