LIFE // LUSH Factory Tour

I was lucky enough to get the chance to head down to Poole, the home town of LUSH cosmetics, with a couple of the girls from work to have a factory tour and see where all the Lush magic is made!

Lou, Yas and myself were treated to a factory tour by our manager (We all work at the same Lush store). We had to get up super early to meet up with some of the other people on our tour from other Lush shops and start the tour at 8am.

The Lush factories are like Willy Wonka's chocolate factories but for soap and bubbles. There are colours everywhere, huge vats of fresh products, music playing, and of course it smells amazing!

What struck me the most was the sheer size of the place. Manufacturing is set out over a few sites and every factory we visited seemed bigger than the last! Every where was so busy and filled with people making lovely products at a crazy pace. All the staff there were lovely though, and every single person I saw and spoke to were more than happy to chat and let us get involved with their work. Lush really do have the nicest staff (and I'm not just saying that because I work there haha). It really made me appreciate the hard work that goes into all the products we sell because so much time and effort goes into making each and every product that hits our shelves.Lots of customers ask why our products can get a bit pricey but if you could see how much work and effort and time goes into making certain products you would see why!

It was such a fun day and I felt so lucky to have the chance to do this. Big thank you to everyone at Manufacturing who kindly showed us round their factories and made us feel very welcome :)

  1. That looks so much fun, I don’t think I could have been ready for an 8am tour though haha definitely not a morning person. But I do imagine it would be like Willy Wonka, I always think though with Lush you are paying that bit extra for not only the quality of the products but with the amount of effort that has gone into making them.
