#Bubblebeard for Decembeard // Blogmas 2015

I'm sure many of you have heard about the campaign Decembeard, where guys grow a beard in the month of December to help raise money to beat bowel cancer. Bowel cancer is the second biggest cancer killer in the UK so it's a really important cause that we all should be aware of. I personally would really struggle to grow a beard so I've always felt like I've missed out on this campaign... that is until now!

Bathstore have teamed up with Decembeard to challenge every single person in the nation to grow a beard for charity - there's no excuse as we all can grow our own Bubblebeards! I had a go at this challenge to grow my very own, majestic bubble beard and, working in a shop that is known for it's bath bombs and bubble baths, I was very much up for this challenge!

I have to admit, bubble beards are much harder than I first thought...

Decembeard is about encouraging men to grow out that facial hair and raise some money to donate to supporting those affected by bowel cancer. I was really shocked to learn that every 15 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with bowel cancer. That's at least one person while you've been reading this blog post. Early diagnosis is vital and if it is caught early enough, 90% of patients can be successfully treated so it sad to see that it's is the second biggest cancer killer in the UK. It doesn't need to be this way. Decembeard are aiming to raise £500,000 to go towards support to the patients and their families.

Like I said, being a woman makes it a touch harder to grow a beard so I had to opt for the bubble beard. Thankfully Bathstore provided instructions on getting the PERFECT beard with bubbles. The trick is getting a thick lather of bubbles - this makes sculpting much easier. I'm pretty proud of my masterpiece, if I do say so myself.

Now you've created your bubble beard of wonder, it's time for the important bit. We all want to see your bubble beards, so take a selfie an share over all your social media platforms with the hash tag #bubblebeard. You are also encouraged to donate a little bit to the good cause and this is really easy to do - it took my ten seconds by texting BUBL15 £2 to 70070 to make a £2 donation to Decembeard. Please help support this campaign; not only is #Bubblebeard really fun to take part in but it is awareness going towards a fantastic cause that can really help make a difference to bowel caner patients.
