How to Unwind during Christmas // Blogmas 2015

This time of year is hectic - especially to those who are not huge fans of Christmas time! It is important to give yourself time to relax this time of year otherwise you don't reap the benefits of having a few days away from your regular schedule.

Unless you want to run around like a headless chicken, then please take a few moments to chill out and treat yourself! I've suggested a few ways that I like to unwind and spend my Christmases, and ways that help me make the most of my time off.

Go for a wintry walk
Grab your hat, scarf and gloves and get ready for a chilly day in the outdoors! Personally, I love walking in the colder months. It refreshes me and gives me chance to do some gentle exercise to stretch my muscles. Being outdoors is a wonderful stress reliever, plus you can have a catch up with friends and family by inviting them along too. Bonus points if you can walk a cute dog too.

Take a long soak in the bath
I take bathes quite a lot but it's not very often I will take time out and actually chill out for a long time in the tub. For the best pamper, I recommend a good bath bomb from Lush, a new book to read and a few scented candles dotted around. Bubble baths are made to spend time to relax, so put aside an hour and a face mask and make the most of bath time!

Have a No Spend day
I find at this time of year, I'm constantly in and out of shops rushing around trying to pick up bits and bobs to make Christmas special. I hate how busy the shops get and I hate how much money I end up spending over the course of the festive period. I think it does your mind, and your bank balance, good to take a day off spending and relax at home. And don't even think about doing online shopping!

Have an early night
Early nights bother me slightly. I am a night person and I hate not being active and productive at night; I feel like I am wasting so much time if I'm not busy at night! Having said that, nothing beats the refreshing feel of waking up after a long nights sleep after going to bed a bit earlier than usual. If you can't sleep early, grab a hot chocolate for bed and a nice, feel good film to watch while being in bed. This is one of the best ways to relax after a long day working or doing Christmas preparations.

What's your favourite way to relax when it is busy over the Christmas period?
