101 in 1001 Update

It doesn't feel that long since I complied my 101 in 1001 days challenge. For those who aren't sure what on Earth I'm referring to, then it is basically a challenge where you set yourself 101 goals to accomplish in 1001 days. It is a bit like a bucket list, but you have a time frame to do it so the idea is you have more incentive to get the tasks done!

My list took ages to create. I knew there were loads of things I wanted to achieve before the 1001 days had passed because I have been going through some major lifestyle changes and I knew if I didn't push myself I'd get no where! So, did I manage to accomplish any of the goals now I'm a third of the way through the challenge?!
I am really happy with how many things I have actually done. I feel like I've not achieved much when, in reality, I've done quite a bit this year! I think the best way to make sure the goals are achievable are to set ones you 1) are desperate to do, and 2) are realistic in the time frame. This doesn't mean you can't push yourself however. I had buying a house on my list which, frankly, is wishful thinking but maybe if I but my mind to it, it isn't such a crazy idea. One of the goals I am most proud of is saving £1000, which I then used to buy my car after I passed my driving test. That was three goals achieved that I really thought would be a challenge! A great example of pushing yourself to achieve what you want.

I have done a couple of the goals by accident. I have been through a couple of down periods this last year and lost a bit of weight during the time. I lost a stone, which was one of my goals, but it wasn't in the healthiest of ways and it certainly wasn't intentional. I visited Liverpool twice this year and one was completely unplanned so I managed to tick that goal off too! Living at my parents meant an inevitable wardrobe clear out too, which was actually very satisfying.

My next goals are quite challenging because they need money. A lot of them are travel related which would be difficult as I currently don't earn much. Some of them are just cutting bad habits, like my Lush addiction, which is probably an impossible task while I work there! I love doing this challenge and I would encourage everyone to have a go at it at some point. It's fun and great to look back at all you've achieved. Happy 2016 everyone!

  3. I created my own list for this challenge a while ago now. I think I've got til the end of September this year to accomplish my plans! Not having my hopes up as I'm sure I've not ticked many off at all. It's great to see you've managed so many of yours, even if by accident. Be proud of yourself :)
